CONTINUOUS VARIABLE TRANSMISSION

Specification:

Cutaway CVT has been specifically designed for teaching the continuously variable transmission. This

type of transmission can provide a seamless transition through an infinite number of effective gear

ratios between maximum and minimum values.

This contrasts with other automatic transmissions that offer a fixed number of gear ratios.

The flexibility of a CVT allows the vehicle drive shafts to maintain a more constant velocity over a range

of driving conditions.

This can provide better fuel economy than other automatic transmissions by enabling the engine to run

at its most efficient revolutions per minute (RPM) for a range of vehicle speeds.

Alternatively it can be used to maximize the performance of a vehicle by allowing the engine to turn at

engine speeds during which peak power is obtained.

This is typically higher than the RPM during which maximum engine efficiency is developed.

The Cutaway CVT Uses electronic controlled air pressure to apply and release the clutches and pulleys.
