Water Retention Test Apparatus

Price: 100 INR/Unit

Water Retention Test Apparatus: MTCT-25 Water retention testing is used to determine the ability of mortars and plasters to retain water under suction. The test results are used to determine compliance and specifications. The results obtained from the test method do not necessarily indicate the degree of water retention when used with masonry units, since the amount of water absorbed by the unit depends on the rate of absorption of the masonry unit. The water retention apparatus is used in specification tests of masonry cement and physical testing of quicklime and hydrated lime. The unit incorporates a vacuum regulator and gauge system as opposed to using a mercury manometer and relief column. The bleeding rate apparatus is used to determine the rate and bleeding capacity of cement paste and mortar by direct and continuous procedure. Technical Specification Displacement gauge- indicate the vertical displacement Top plate-fix displacement gauge Base plate-place ceramic disk and collect water Water supply tank- Deminerlized water Vacuum generator-generate vacuum

Vicat Needle Apparatus

Price: 100 INR/Piece

Vicat Needle Apparatus: MTCT-22 Vicat needle apparatus is used to find out the consistency, initial setting time and final setting time of the cement. In the normal consistency test we have to find out the amount of water to be added to the cement to form a cement paste of normal consistency. Vicat„s apparatus consists of an arrangement to hold the plunger of 10 mm diameter and two other needles which are made to freely fall into a mould filled with the cement paste and the amount of penetration of the needles of plunder can be noted using the vertical graduations from 0 mm to 50 mm. When the penetration is of about 42 to 45 mm or when the reading on the vertical graduation is about 5 mm to 7 mm that means cement is of normal consistency. Generally the water required to form a paste of normal consistency is 30%. Technical Specification High alumina The apparatus consists of a metallic frame bearing a freely movable A cap at top, one vicat mould and glass base plate and one set of needles one each initial needle, final needle and consistency plunger. It comes with a dashpot which facilities gentle lowering of the needles Super sulphated Low heat Masonry cement Ordinary Rapid hardening

LE Chatelier Mould

Price: 10 INR/Piece

LE Chatelier Mould MTCT-13 Cement of good quality does not contain the impurities like free lime, magnesia and sulphates, so this should be checked before use. When it contains the impurities named above, it can expand after reacted with the water, which will result in the unwanted results like, cracking, unwanted expansion of the dimensions and lower strength. Prepare a cement paste of 78% of standard consistency of the cement, and fill it into the split brass cylinder. Cover the top and bottom of the cylinder and put it in water at 27 degrees Celsius for 24 hours. After 24 hours, measure the separation between the two indicators at their pointed ends. Then heat the whole water and immersed cylinder with paste up to a boiling temperature in 30-35 minutes and then boiling for 3 hours. After cooling it down, again measure the separation between the two pointers. Technical Specification Temperature 27 ï 2 C Humidity 65 ï 5 % Volume expansion in cement mortar or in cement concrete is caused by the presence of UN burnt lime (CaO), dead burnt MgO and also CaSO4. By Le-chatelier method we can only find out presence of un burnt lime (CaO). Presence of UN burnt lime may develop cracks in the cement because of increase in volume. Free lime (CaO) and magnesia (MgO) are known to react with water very slowly and increase in volume considerably, which result in cracking, distortion and disintegration Two parallel demonstrating arms with pointed closures are connected.

Accelerated Curing Tank for Cement Testing

Price: 100 INR/Unit

Accelerated Curing Tank: MTCT-101 The strength of concrete is generally estimated after 28 days by crushing field test cubes or cylinders made from the representative concrete used for the structure. The utility of ascertaining strength after 28 days is often questioned since by this time considerable concrete would have been placed and work may have progressed. It is then rather too late for remedial measures. It is therefore of tremendous advantage to predict 28 days strength within a few hours of casting the concrete so that, we have a good idea about the strength of the concrete. The rate of gain of strength of concrete depends on the reaction rate of cement and additions with water (Hydration). In common with all chemical reactions, the rate of reaction depends on reaction of temp. Higher reaction temperature gives higher rate of reaction e.g. the concrete gains strength more rapidly when itïs temp. is higher. Accelerated curing is the process by which the temperature of the concrete is raised artificially by applying external heat to speed up the rate of gain in strength. The test method covers procedures for curing test specimens of concrete stored under conditions intended to accelerate the development of strength. The procedures are: Procedure A- Warm Water Method, Procedure B-Boiling Water Method. Specification Accelerated Curing Tank Accelerated Curing Tank having capacity to accommodate 6/12/18 Concrete Cubes of 150mm size with a facility for accelerated curing by Boiling water method up to temperature range: 100 +/- 2 deg.C It will have capacity for curing by warm water method at temperature 55 +/- 2 deg.C Tank will consist of a rectangular double walled metal cabinet, inside lined with stainless steel, outer powder coated. Easily replaceable high Wattage heaters are mounted inside the chamber. A slow speed stirrer is provided to circulate water inside the chamber to maintain the uniform temperature of water. A strong stainless steel perforated platform is provided for keeping the cubes and also have a lid with lifting handle to cover the chamber. The temperature is indicated and controlled by a DIGITAL auto tuning PID Temp. Controller with soak timer to control the duration of heating and then to shut down the system without manual attendance. The front panel will have power supply indicating lamp, control action indication lamp and one main switch. Suitable for operation on 220 V, 50 Hz single phase, AC supply or 440 V 50 Hz, three phase AC supply, for bigger size of curing tank.

Blain Air Permeability Apparatus

Price: 100 INR/Piece

Blain Air Permeability Apparatus: MTCT-03 The Blaine air permeability apparatus is used to determine the fineness of Portland cement in terms of the specific surface expressed as total surface area in square centimeters per gram of cement. The Blaine apparatus draws a defined volume of air through a prepared bed of cement of defined porosity. The Blaine air-permeability apparatus consists essentially of a means of drawing a definite quantity of air through a prepared bed of cement of definite porosity. The number and size of the pores in a prepared bed of definite porosity is a function of the size of the particles and determines the rate of airflow through the bed. The apparatus illustrated. Technical Specification Fineness of cement has a great effect on the rate of hydration and hence the rate of gain of strength. Fineness of cement increases the rate of evolution of heat. Finer cement offers a great surface area for hydration and hence faster the development of strength. Increase in fineness of cement also increases the drying shrinkage of concrete and hence creates cracks in structures. Excessive fineness requirement increases cost of grinding. Excessive fine cement requires more water for hydration, resulting reduced strength and durability. Fineness of cement affects properties like gypsum requirement, workability of fresh concrete & long term behavior of structure. Coarse cement particles settle down in concrete which causes bleeding. Approximately 95% of cement particles are smaller than 45 micrometers, with the average particle around 15 micrometers. In the early 1900s, cement fineness was expressed as the mass of cement per fractional size (percent weight retained on specific sieve sizes). Now a day„s fineness is usually measured by the Blaine air-permeability test that indirectly measures the surface area of the cement particles per unit mass. Cements with finer particles have more surface area in m2 per kg of cement.
